Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

The Science Behind Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy:

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen in a pressurized environment, at a level higher than 1 atmosphere absolute (ATA). Increased pressure allows for oxygen to dissolve and saturate the blood plasma, making it more readily available to the body's tissues. Oxygen in the cells and blood yields a broad variety of positive physiological, biochemical and cellular effects. This noninvasive therapy is the most trusted way to increase oxygen levels to all organs of the body.

HBOT has been demonstrated in several clinical studies to enhance the body’s innate ability to repair and regenerate. It is used as an adjunct therapy to complement and enhance the healing process, repairing damaged tissues in both chronic and acute
conditions.

What does that really mean?

While an individual is under pressure, the oxygen molecules decrease in size and are able to dissolve into the blood plasma. This exponentially increases oxygen delivery throughout the body and makes it possible for oxygen to reach inflamed tissue and support optimal cellular and organ functionality.

Benefits of HBOT:

  • Faster healing: HBOT can help wounds heal faster and reduce the risk of complications
  • Reduced infection: It can help fight infections and prevent them from spreading
  • Improved circulation: HBOT can help improve blood flow to tissues and organs
  • Tissue regeneration: It can promote the growth of new tissues and blood vessels

What does HBOT treat?

Due to the many benefits that oxygen saturation can have on the tissues and cells of the body, HBOT can help treat numerous conditions, illnesses, injuries, and can assist in overall wellness. Ask your doctor if HBOT is a good fit for your health journey.

What to expect?

Some people may feel the effects of HBOT immediately, while others may not feel them for several days or weeks into their treatment plan. The doctor will develop a treatment plan for each patient based on their individual needs.

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING SINUS PRESSURE OR CONGESTION - PLEASE LET US KNOW, we will modify the inflation and deflation process.

Treatment frequency?

Each condition is individual and it is best to discuss this with your provider and develop a treatment plan together. For acute conditions it is ideal to increase frequency at the beginning stages of your treatment plan. For chronic conditions or maintenance, the treatments can be spread out based on your symptoms and goals.
